The Hand Truck is defined by its wheels as distinct from the trolley which is mounted on castors and the bogie on fixed axles.  The  Hand Truck has elaborate facilities for steering and may be towed in train without cutting corners, each Hand Truck following the exact wheel path of the one in front.  The Hand Truck doesn't mind rougher ground and doesn't need the smooth surfaces preferred by  the pallet truck or trolley. Fitted with a towing system the Hand truck can tow immense loads up to 50 tonnes or more if used with powered towing vehicles. The best feature is that the simple mechanical nature of the  Hand Truck means it is the ideal partner for fork trucks for towing, can be fitted with brakes and lights or simply used around the work place as a cargo shunter for boxes and components between processes. In short the Hand Truck is a low maintenance, flexible, strong and durable mobile work platform for goods, luggage, food distributions and many other site tasks where individual material handling equipment or component needs are a priority over bulk.
